As a teenager, I dreamed of becoming an English teacher and opening my own language school. I was always very disappointed with the way English was taught – ineffectively and without developing communication skills, so I wanted to teach English differently. I pursued my dream since I was 14 years old, and at 17 I met my future husband, who was from the American city of Baltimore, which helped me gain a very positive attitude towards American English and culture. The English language became a part of my life. In 2009, I started studying English at Charles University and began my teaching practice. In 2018, I founded a language school in Beroun that teaches English. Quality teaching and a personal approach are what I want to continue to offer, including to your children, which is why my husband and I decided to establish this new Czech-American school. Our school is based on open thinking and listening to the needs of all children, so that we can develop their strengths as best as possible. We perceive children for who they really are and respect their personalities.

I have been working in education for six years. I graduated from Charles University and am currently continuing my studies of English at Masaryk University. I spent most of my practice in the 2nd grade, but working with younger children has always appealed to me - today I teach both grades and I enjoy both. Younger children entertain me with their sincerity and curiosity, older ones are great discussion partners. Since childhood, I have enjoyed working with children, which is why I decided to study English at the Metropolitan University. I completed part of my studies at the University of Limerick in Ireland, where I gained valuable language practice. I am currently completing my education in special education at the Technical University of Liberec. I worked as a dance coach for seven years, which gave me a solid foundation in motivating children and guiding them towards their goals. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Gallery and Museum Education at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, and a master's degree in Art Education for the Second and Third Grades. I am currently continuing my studies in the master's degree program in English Language Teaching for the Second and Third Grades at the same faculty. I also gained experience during Erasmus internships abroad at the Pedagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe and the Instituto Politécnico Lisboa. I studied Czech and English at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and have been working in education since 2009. I also gained experience as a summer camp and English camp leader. I am constantly educating myself – I participate in seminars and training courses (e.g. NPI, Taktik, Eduall), I follow modern trends and in my teaching I combine meaningful elements of traditional teaching with the RWCT methodology. After studying production at DAMU and more than a decade of musical career abroad, I gradually switched to teaching - first as a voice consultant, later as a teacher. I come from a family of teachers and working with children in education began to make more and more sense to me. I am currently completing my pedagogical education so that I can pass on my experience to children even more purposefully and with better quality. I have been working in education for more than 30 years, which has always been my dream. During my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various roles, including 14 years as a primary school principal. Originally from the Czech Republic, Jan Klika moved to the United States in 1968 at the age of 8. He grew up in Maryland, where he later earned a degree in mathematics and went on to work for NASA in the 1990s, developing advanced algorithms. In 1997, Jan returned to the Czech Republic with his wife and five sons. He brings not only a deep love of mathematics but also a passion for helping students understand how to think mathematically—beyond just solving problems, he inspires curiosity, logic, and a joy for learning.

At school, I represent colleagues when needed – in classes, during lessons and during school activities. I enjoy the diversity of this work and the opportunity to get to know different children and teaching approaches. In every situation, I try to approach children with respect, patience and a smile. I teach financial literacy because I know how important it is to understand the world of money—and how much it can make life easier. After grammar school, I studied public administration with a focus on public finance. I then spent nearly 23 years in banking, working in various roles from sales to private and investment banking, and eventually as a product manager in mortgage lending, where I spent 17 years. I hold an investment banker certification and accreditation from the Czech National Bank. In my professional career, I also taught financial education to adults. Today, I aim to introduce children to the world of money in a way they can understand—so they’re not afraid of it and learn to handle it wisely from an early age.

After graduating from secondary pedagogical school, majoring in Education, I worked as a kindergarten teacher for a total of 19 years. Then I started working at a state school, where I worked for eight years in a after-school care center. During my teaching career, I have completed countless training courses in the field of child psychology and pedagogy, and I also have a paramedic course. Now I have been working in our private school in Baltimore for the second year as a after-school care center teacher. I have four children myself, and my work is not a job for me, but a lifelong hobby that I will never stop enjoying, because I know no better sound in life than children's laughter.

I have been working in education with breaks since my studies, but I have also been involved in the hospitality business. Working with children has always charged me up - as has sports, which have accompanied me my whole life and give me the energy I need. I have worked as a teacher in a children's home, a 1st grade teacher, in a kindergarten and in the private sector. Today I work in the after-school care center of Baltimore Elementary School and occasionally lead internships for students of the Secondary Educational Service School in Beroun. Being part of a school with a quality teaching team and an open approach is another valuable stage for me, in which I can put my experience and enthusiasm to good use.

I have a high school education with a high school diploma and worked as an accountant in a corporate environment for almost thirty years. I was brought to Baltimore Elementary School by a desire for change – I wanted to work in a friendly team and closer to people. Here I found not only a great team, but also daily contact with children, which makes me happy and fulfilled. I like to help, listen and explain. Working with numbers and people makes sense to me – and here it connects beautifully.

I’ve been involved in sports since childhood, and today, in addition to handling operational matters, I also lead movement classes for school-age children. When I was offered the opportunity to join the ZŠ Baltimore team, I didn’t hesitate — working with children is fulfilling for me, and I enjoy the variety this role offers. Every day is different and full of color, just like the world of children, which I navigate with respect, joy, and a willingness to support each child on their journey.

I work as an educational consultant and personal development mentor at school. In 2018, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Vocational Education Counseling from the Czech University of Life Sciences and entered the education sector. I gained practical experience as a tutor, teaching assistant, club leader, and teacher until I took on the role of a school special education teacher in 2022. During the same period, I completed a bachelor's degree (Technical University of Liberec) and a master's degree in special education with a focus on people with speech impairments (Silesian University in Opava). Special education is a fantastic field for me, opening doors that would otherwise remain closed. I enjoy providing support to children with special educational needs, their teachers, other educational staff, and especially parents. I treat the children in my care exactly as I would want someone to treat my daughter, i.e. with kindness, trust, and understanding, which also come with progress in skills. My name is Maruška and I work as a teaching assistant in the second grade. What I like most about children is their immediacy, sense of humor and ability to surprise – thanks to them I never get bored and every day is completely different. Instead of strict rules, I prefer humor and perspective, because that's what I think works with children. Honestly, children are not really naughty, they just sometimes do what they shouldn't. 😊 I believe that there are no bad mistakes, each one is just an opportunity to learn something new, for the children and for me. I've been interested in computers my whole life - I always wanted to learn about them, I spent a lot of time on them, and then they started to feed me. But at one point I decided that I didn't want to be just behind a screen from morning to night, but also among people. I teach computer science, math, and lead robotics and programming groups. It's great that in Baltimore I can focus on children individually, not just teach them in front of a blackboard, and I enjoy seeing them learn new things.

I graduated from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science. I have been an active athlete all my life, I played ice hockey for 23 years at both professional and semi-professional levels and represented the Czech Republic in youth teams several times. During my studies, I also represented the university in ice hockey, which allowed me to combine education with exercise. I am currently completing my education in the field of physical training and completing a course to become a personal trainer. My vision is to connect exercise and nutrition so that people can live healthier and more balanced lives.
