Our Approach

CZECH-ENGLISH EDUCATION

We are a new elementary school located in Beroun with advanced English lessons suitable for bilingual children and children interested in learning English from the first grade.

FAMILY ATMOSPHERE

Our goal is to create a pleasant family environment for children and apply the best teaching methods that will bring children the joy of learning. We are based on the principles and methods of teaching of John Amos Comenius. The aim of teaching in our school is to encourage creativity and develop natural talent.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

We offer lessons in small groups (max. 18 children). Lessons are held in Czech and English. We also offer a special program for gifted children, athletes and artists.

We use newly renovated premises at Švýcarská 2124, Beroun.

We are planning to build a campus for elementary schools and kindergartens.

We are preparing new premises in Beroun. We plan to complete the construction of the first stage in the summer of 2025.

Samuel D. Klika

Co-founder / Chairman of the Board

As an entrepreneur and investor, my job is to look into the future and try to figure out where to best allocate capital today.

When you're young, it's not money you're investing — it's time. And time is a precious, finite resource. In our view, people who learn how to communicate well, use or build technology, and manage their finances early on will have a huge head start in life — whether they end up working for someone else or starting something of their own.

As the world becomes more global and more digital by the minute, my wife and I felt it was important to build a school that wasn’t just bilingual, but one that also encourages skills like communication, tech, and financial literacy from a young age.

We can’t know exactly what the future holds for our kids. But we’re confident that being able to express themselves clearly, use digital tools effectively, manage money wisely, and think critically will give them a solid foundation no matter what path they take.

Jako teenager jsem snila o tom, že se jednou stanu učitelkou angličtiny a založím si svou vlastní jazykovou školu. Vždy mě moc mrzelo, jakým způsobem se angličtina vyučovala – neefektivně a nerozvíjela se komunikační dovednost, proto jsem chtěla angličtinu vyučovat jinak.

Za svým snem jsem si šla již od svých 14 let a v 17 letech jsem potkala svého budoucího manžela pocházející z amerického města Baltimore, což mi pomohlo získat velmi kladný vztah k americké angličtině a kultuře. Anglický jazyk se stal součástí mého života.

V roce 2009 jsem zahájila studium anglického jazyka na Karlově univerzitě a začala jsem se svou lektorskou praxí. V roce 2018 jsem založila jazykovou školu v Berouně, která vyučuje anglický jazyk.

Kvalitní výuku a osobní přístup je to, co chci nabídnout dál, a to i Vašim dětem, proto jsme se rozhodli založit se svým mužem tuto novou česko-americkou školu.

Naše škola si zakládá na otevřeném myšlení a naslouchání potřeb všech dětí, tak abychom mohli rozvinout co nejlépe jejich silné stránky. Vnímáme děti, kým doopravdy jsou a respektujeme jejich osobnosti.

Baltimore Elementary School is a haven for me, where I fulfill my dream of teaching and developing children not only intellectually, but also as human beings. I am close to the individual and respectful approach of the school and in my work I also rely on the experience of a mother of two teenage girls. You can find me not only in the classroom, but also at extracurricular activities and suburban camps. Working with children fulfills me, inspires me and gives me meaning.

I graduated from the University of West Bohemia as a primary school teacher and have been working in education for more than 12 years. In teaching, I try to guide children in a way that makes them enjoy learning, develop their creativity, learn to cooperate and not be afraid of mistakes – because these are an integral part of growth. I was attracted by the founders’ vision of creating a modern and friendly school that combines bilingual education with a respectful approach to children. I believe that school should be a place where children feel good, can be themselves and naturally develop their potential.

Natálie ZŠ Baltimore.jpg Natálie Stahlová 3rd grade teacher I graduated with a master's degree in Anglophone Studies with a focus on phonetics and phonology, which sparked my deeper passion for languages and communication. I am currently continuing my education in the field of 1st grade teaching. I have extensive experience in leading children at language camps, where I have mastered working with diverse groups. When teaching, I emphasize a positive atmosphere, a fun form, and natural development. I believe that education should be joyful and motivating. Baltimore Elementary School is an environment where this vision is truly lived out – I can grow here together with the children and as a teacher. My goal is to foster in children a love of discovery that will last a lifetime.

Since childhood, I have enjoyed working with children, which is why I decided to study English at the Metropolitan University. I completed part of my studies at the University of Limerick in Ireland, where I gained valuable language practice. I am currently completing my education in special education at the Technical University of Liberec. I worked as a dance coach for seven years, which gave me a solid foundation in motivating children and guiding them towards their goals. I believe that every student has unique potential, and I strive to create an environment where children feel safe, have the space to grow and learn at their own pace. Baltimore Elementary School gives me the opportunity to individually focus on children, get to know their needs and support them on their journey. I go to school with joy and gratitude for a class full of great children.

Kristýna Šmídová

I have been working in education for six years. I graduated from Charles University and am currently continuing my studies of English at Masaryk University. I spent most of my practice in the 2nd grade, but working with younger children has always appealed to me - today I teach both grades and I enjoy both. Younger children entertain me with their sincerity and curiosity, older ones are great discussion partners. In teaching, I want to awaken in children a natural desire to discover, support their self-confidence and develop their potential. I approach each child individually and with patience. I have a two-year-old son, so the world of children accompanies me at home. In my free time, I like to read and educate myself. The greatest reward for me is watching children grow and learn.

Radka Tomíšková

I studied Czech and English at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and have been working in education since 2009. I also gained experience as a summer camp and English camp leader. I am constantly educating myself – I participate in seminars and training courses (e.g. NPI, Taktik, Eduall), I follow modern trends and in my teaching I combine meaningful elements of traditional teaching with the RWCT methodology. At Baltimore Elementary School, I find harmony with the school's vision and appreciate the possibility of an individual approach thanks to smaller classes. I support children in not being afraid of mistakes, experiencing success, knowing how to ask questions and providing feedback. My goal is for children to feel safe at school, to be able to grow and develop according to their abilities and needs.

Vojtěch Duda

I come from a family of teachers and I knew during high school that I wanted to pursue a career in pedagogy. I am currently studying for a master's degree at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Charles University and I gain experience both in the school environment and in extracurricular activities. A great inspiration for me was my internship at the Baltimore Elementary School, where I realized how fundamental an impact meaningful education can have on children's development. I have also been involved in sports activities in the Super Kids program for a long time, where I support children in physical development, teamwork and healthy self-confidence. In my classes, I create a friendly and motivating atmosphere that supports curiosity, the courage to try new things and the desire to learn from mistakes. My goal is to contribute to the education of young people with critical thinking, creativity and respect for themselves and others. In my free time, I play sports with my dog Alfred, who is my loyal partner.

I am an English teacher with over ten years of experience in teaching and researching effective language teaching methods. I started with adult students, but gradually I became more and more attracted to working with children, which fills me with its energy, immediacy and openness. In teaching, it is key for me to pass on the right habits to children and teach them how to learn. I am not only a teacher, but also a lifelong student of languages - in addition to English, I also study Japanese. This helps me to better understand the learning process and transfer this experience to my teaching. In my free time, I read, write, sing in a band and further develop my passion for languages.

Lukáš Grüner

After studying production at DAMU and more than a decade of musical career abroad, I gradually switched to teaching - first as a voice consultant, later as a teacher. I come from a family of teachers and working with children in education began to make more and more sense to me. I am currently completing my pedagogical education so that I can pass on my experience to children even more purposefully and with better quality. At Baltimore Elementary School, I found an environment where I can awaken children's interest in music, culture and self-expression. I enjoy finding ways to develop their natural talent and musical sensitivity. I am grateful to be part of a team that inspires and supports children on their journey.

I am an English teacher specializing in first grade teaching. I have American roots – part of my family lives in the USA and has been teaching English here for several generations. I enjoy teaching and enjoy it, and through positive communication I create a welcoming environment for children where they are not afraid to make mistakes and learn. In my free time, I travel, discover new cultures and play sports, which help me maintain my energy and positive attitude. Every day at school is an opportunity for me not only to teach something, but also to learn from the children myself.
