CZECH-ENGLISH EDUCATION

We are a new elementary school located in Beroun with advanced English lessons suitable for bilingual children and children interested in learning English from the first grade.

family.png

FAMILY ATMOSPHERE

Our goal is to create a welcoming, family-like environment for children and to apply the best teaching methods that make learning joyful. Our approach is inspired by the principles and methods of John Amos Comenius. At our school, we aim to nurture creativity and help each child develop their natural talents.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

We offer lessons in small groups (max. 18 children). Lessons are held in Czech and English. We also offer a special program for gifted children, athletes and artists.

Prostory

CONTEMPORARY SPACES

We use newly renovated premises at Švýcarská 2124, Beroun.

A New School Campus on the Horizon

We are preparing an entirely new campus for our school, where all classes will be together – and finally with our own kitchen.
Right now, we are working on the building permit, which is a paperwork-heavy process and its timeline cannot be predicted exactly. If everything goes according to plan, construction will begin at the end of 2025, and thanks to modular technology (www.koma-modular.cz), it will take only 3–4 months.
We hope to move into the new campus in spring or summer 2026.

About Us

Samuel D. Klika

Co-founder / Chairman of the Board

As an entrepreneur and investor, my job is to look into the future and try to figure out where to best allocate capital today.

When you're young, it's not money you're investing — it's time. And time is a precious, finite resource. In our view, people who learn how to communicate well, use or build technology, and manage their finances early on will have a huge head start in life — whether they end up working for someone else or starting something of their own.

As the world becomes more global and more digital by the minute, my wife and I felt it was important to build a school that wasn't just bilingual, but one that also encourages skills like communication, tech, and financial literacy from a young age.

We can't know exactly what the future holds for our kids. But we're confident that being able to express themselves clearly, use digital tools effectively, manage money wisely, and think critically will give them a solid foundation no matter what path they take.

Aneta Klikova

founder / director of the organization

As a teenager, I dreamed of becoming an English teacher and opening my own language school. I was always very disappointed with the way English was taught – ineffectively and without developing communication skills, so I wanted to teach English differently.

I have been pursuing my dream since I was 14 years old, and at 17 I met my future husband, who was from the American city of Baltimore, which helped me gain a very positive relationship with American English and culture. The English language has become a part of my life.

In 2009, I began studying English at Charles University and began my teaching career. In 2018, I founded a language school in Beroun that teaches English.

Quality teaching and a personal approach are what I want to continue to offer, including to your children, which is why my husband and I decided to establish this new Czech-American school.

Our school is based on open thinking and listening to the needs of all children, so that we can best develop their strengths. We see children for who they really are and respect their personalities.

Bára Gudasová

school partner / board member

"School and sports should go hand in hand. One supports the other. We have a vision for our school to support children to speak English and go out into the world, and at the same time for the school to support their studies while playing sports at the highest level."

Radko Gudas

school partner / board member

"I was thinking about what to do next after my hockey career. I liked the opportunity to build a Czech-American bilingual school with a sports program also because of my own children. We work with great people and it's clear that it makes sense."

teacher

Dále mně baví podporovat a rozvíjet u dětí motivaci k učení i ostatním činnostem. Ve volném čase se nejraději věnuji rodině, domácím mazlíčkům a četbě.

1st grade teacher

I have been working in education for six years. I graduated from Charles University and am currently continuing my studies of English at Masaryk University. I spent most of my practice in the 2nd grade, but working with younger children has always appealed to me - today I teach both grades and I enjoy both. Younger children entertain me with their sincerity and curiosity, older ones are great discussion partners. In teaching, I want to awaken in children a natural desire to discover, support their self-confidence and develop their potential. I approach each child individually and with patience. I have a two-year-old son, so the world of children accompanies me at home. In my free time, I like to read and educate myself. The greatest reward for me is watching children grow and learn.

2nd grade homeroom teacher

Edookit administrator

I have loved reading, writing and working with children since childhood. Baltimore Elementary School is a haven for me, where I fulfill my dream of teaching and developing children not only intellectually, but also as human beings. I am close to the individual and respectful approach of the school and in my work I also rely on the experience of a mother of two teenage girls. You can find me not only in the classroom, but also at extracurricular activities and suburban camps. Working with children fulfills me, inspires me and gives me meaning.

Lucie Sramkova

3rd grade teacher

director of education

I graduated from the University of West Bohemia as a primary school teacher and have been working in education for more than 12 years. In teaching, I try to guide children in a way that makes them enjoy learning, develop their creativity, learn to cooperate and not be afraid of mistakes – because these are an integral part of growth. I was attracted by the founders’ vision of creating a modern and friendly school that combines bilingual education with a respectful approach to children. I believe that school should be a place where children feel good, can be themselves and naturally develop their potential.

financial literacy teacher

učitelka finanční gramotnosti

I teach financial literacy because I know how important it is to understand the world of money—and how much it can make life easier. After grammar school, I studied public administration with a focus on public finance. I then spent nearly 23 years in banking, working in various roles from sales to private and investment banking, and eventually as a product manager in mortgage lending, where I spent 17 years. I hold an investment banker certification and accreditation from the Czech National Bank. In my professional career, I also taught financial education to adults. Today, I aim to introduce children to the world of money in a way they can understand—so they’re not afraid of it and learn to handle it wisely from an early age.

Aris Nestoridis

Aris Nestoridis

native speaker, teacher

My name is Aris, I am 20 years old and I am teaching English for the second year. I graduated from the Business Academy with a focus on economic lyceum and am currently studying geography and history – subjects that have interested me for a long time. I enjoy traveling, learning about other cultures and working in an international environment, such as the one offered by Baltimore Elementary School. In my free time, I deliver goods because I enjoy driving and moving. When teaching, I emphasize natural communication, a positive atmosphere and a sense of humor. I believe that a foreign language should be learned with joy and practical use, not just by memorizing.
